mid-60s. >> traffic this morning? >> we have a hot spot but otherwise we are looking good with a look outside as we head beyond golden gate field headlights to the macarthur maze westbound direction and approaching the bay bridge here is what you will find, a delay on the left-hand side and everyone else is please through and the only trouble spot in san jose is the sig-alert the transition from north 280 to south 897 100 lane is getting by and if you would like an alternate, use bird. >> more on breaking news in the south bay authorities are sending for two carjacking suspects in the sunnyvale mountain view area after a high speed chase. we are in sunnyvale with the latest. >> huge police presence in sunny rail and the other side of 85 in los altos where we are standing where the police chase came for an end. you can see the sign at the end

said "no outlet." they ran into a dead en. this starts at fully road in east san jose near the santa clara county fair grounds. a man was carjacked by two men using a gun. police tracked the car and found it in san jose. that is when a high speed chase started from 280 to 85 and end up in sunnyvale adjacent for highway 85. we though jumped out and ran. a handgun was found nearby. >> we have used the k mine to search if the -- for the suspect. the k-9 led us to an area that is like a water culvert piping type of area. i have not been over to see that but it is possible our suspects could be around that area where we are looking right now. >> here is video we shot in the past half hour of the vehicle that was carjacked towed from the scene, the cadillac and officers and deputies from the sheriff and san jose and

sunnyvale and santa later and los altos police department station aned at intersections on the los altos side and sunnyvale side. the show open if both directions but was closed early this morning as officers had to get across 85 chase the suspect. some neighborhoods were blocked off to traffic and police do not believe any residents are in danger. there is no shelter in place at this moment. breaking news, two police officers are hospitalized this morning as they were shot during a night of protests in ferguson missouri, the city where a white police officer shot and killed an unarm black teen. >> the officers sharp shot outside the ferguson, police station, from other agencies in the missouri town to assist with demonstrations happening last night. hundreds gathered following resignation of a ferguson police chief.

hillary clinton took a back seat with a surprise visit to the bay area. she dropped in yesterday on ebay's woman summit and the speech focused on tackling gender equality issues and improving diversity in s veal. she has ties to the wife of c.e.o. john done -- clinton did not comment on her use of a personal e-mail account while in office. >> a bay area 5th grader is back in school after he was bullied by another student a story you will see only here. 11-year-old nathan ferrise was knocked unconscious by the boy in january. the accused bully was suspended but want back-to-school after a few days. yesterday, nathan's mom said that student has finally been kicked out. >> he was ecstatic and excited to get back-to-school.

the justice department and the police chief and mayor hold a meeting of community policing after a string of fatal officer involved shootings in the city. last year, it involved hispanic men. last year, civil rights attorney called on the justice department to investigate the shootings and examine if there is a pattern of racism in the police department. >> thursday looking to be the start of a warming trend. >> the weekend is going to be nothing but warmth and sunshine and today is the trend going. we have clear skies above. no rain. at this hour. temperature-wise, concord is at 50 degrees and 51 in oakland and downtown san francisco checking in at 54 and north bay is cooler and fog in the north bay and otherwise temperatures are in the mid-40s and mountain view is sitting at 53. we have a few clouds but by the afternoon, total sunshine across the region warming up nicely inland spot into the 70s and

and however some visibility issues in the north bay with petaluma at quarter-mile visibility and elsewhere we are looking good in terms of fog. right now napa is 46 degrees and 52 in san carlos and 49 in fremont and 53 in antioch and fairfield and coming in with a temperature of 45 degrees. from the camera showing downtown san francisco, a few patchy clouds and otherwise the forecast calls for a little bit of fog specifically in the north bay early on and a lot sunshine on the way for thursday and mild temperatures. we start a warming friend today that could weekend. the high pressure is stopping the cloud cover with high clouds to the west and a few of those streaming if throughout the day and a lot of sunshine on the way. the travel delays are good in the skies today with the only issue the northeast and newark

afternoon. mild, and 70s inland and low-to-mid 60s along the coast. >> thank you we will keep going. >> the bay bridge toll plaza shows metering lights are not on yet and we do have a bit of a delay for cash paying folks that is typical with the metering lights here the next 15 or 20 minutes to walnut creek, south 680, a few brake lights beyond north maine to the 24 junction and you will see slowing but 24 is looking good to the caldecott tunnel. here is a look at the drive time from the central valley from highway 4 antioch to concord and san rafael to the city is the good drive right now at 5:30 you monitoring this, with law enforcement armies gathered in and around sunnyvale searching for two suspects who led they will on a chase this morning. our reporter is on the john with the latest. we are here where the police

chase ended in sunnyvale where the suspects ran into to deadend and it started in east san jose around midnight a man was carjacked on actually road near the fairgrounds. police found the suspects and they got out of the vehicle and headed into the neighborhood where the two men got out and ran. >> we found a small handgun adjacent to the vehicle so we thing they may have dropped the weapon. >> are you considering them armed, and maybe that is not their only weapon? >> we are not sure and we will not take chances. >> self police agencies and the sheriff helped in the chase and taking part in the seven. police believe the men described as around 20, went into the waterway that runs parallel to 8 a and into a culvert cutting to the los altos side where the search thousand is in the culvert. officers say you have to crawl to move through it and an hour ago the cadillac that was

carjacked was tow from sunnyvale and some neighborhoods were blocked off to remark and police do not believe the residents are in danger with no shelter in place order right now. highway 85 is also open in both directions and i heard of recent scar jack insurance in san jose and i asked the police officer if this could be related to those carjackings and they say they are investigating that possibility. it is 5:32. a manhunt is underway near ferguson missouri, for whoever shot two police officers during demonstrations last night. this ties into the michael brown shooting from last year. our reporter is monitoring the latest developments. >> this happened as the protest wrapped up last night with witnesses describing the chaos with the bullets whizzing beyond their heads hitting two police officers.

one person shot video on the cell phone and captured the scary moments. >> there was a large crowd about sector so outside of the ferguson police department when someone opened fire. two officers were hit one in the shoulder the other in the face. their injuries are "serious," but not considered life threatening. this happened during a demonstration. hundreds gather following the resignation of the ferguson, police chief. one of the protests happening in the small town since the death of unarmed teen -- teen michael brown. >> this is not an indictment on everyone expressing their personal rights but we have seen in law enforcement this is a very very, very dangerous environment for the officers to work in. the injured officers are not from ferguson and they were only there to assist dug the protest

one with the st. louis county police accident and the other from neighboring webster grief. many witnesses say the shots came from down the street, not the crowd. thank you. >> this afternoon, two men suspected in the shooting debt of a security guard are scheduled to enter a plea in santa clara county san jose believe these two men killed manny zuniga who was shot after he confronted two men for stealing cigars from a liquor store next to where he works. >> a possible break in the shoot out that killed a per shielding her two children from gun fire. she was walking her seven-year-old son and nine-year-old daughter home when the gunfire broke out much the children were not hurt. police have detained and questioned several people but not releasing many details.

television announcer: ...ends sunday. ♪ mattress discounters ♪ covering novato, oakland sunnyvale and all the bay area, this is abc7 news. hundreds of people held a vigil last might for the service member on board a blackhawk helicopter that crashed tuesday in florida. despite a grim outlook the national guard said search-and-rescue efforts continue. bodies and helicopter parts have been recovered and all aboard are presumed dead. the crew has several hours of flight experience and officials say the chopper want down in heavy fog during a training exercise. in los angeles a suspect is dead and another critically injure after crashing their vaughan during a pursuit into the back of the fire truck.

police found the man last night while responding to a reported shooting. the suspects led officers on a lie speed chase and the van crashed into the fire truck and caught fire and firefighters in the truck were on a medical call when the collision occurred. one suspect was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to the hospital. two firefighters suffered non-life threat being injuries and also were taken to the hospital. police are investigating a bizarre death in the central valley after the discovery of a body between two walls. the body was found in a vacant business park in fleece know. a prosecute owner called police after finding a shatter window with a hole in the wall. authorities believe the man may have been stealing irene two office spaces when he fell between the buildings and was stuck. no word on how long he had been there. >> a controversial powdered alcohol intended to be mixed into drinks has gotten federal approval called palcohol designed for backpackers and
